A Scarborough hotel has been crowned as having the best health club in Yorkshire in a prestigious awards.

The Crown Spa was also a national runner-up after members nominated the facility at the Health Club of the Year Awards.

They rated the club on the quality of facilities, customer service and value for money.

Stuart Russell, club manager, said: “We are so excited to have won this award.

“The whole team works extremely hard to deliver a high standard of service and value for money.

“This award reiterates that most of the time we get this spot on.”

A total of 400 entries from a mixture of small independents, public leisure centres, hotel clubs and some of the best known brands in the industry entered the competition.

The winners were announced at a glamorous awards presentation at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

The black tie event was attended by 300 guests.

Simon Brown, MD of the awards, said: “We believe the best health clubs provide a balance in three key areas - range of facilities, customer service and value for money.

“The Members’ Choice Health Club Awards are designed to find out which clubs are excelling in these areas and recognising them for their efforts.

“We think there’s no better endorsement for a club than honest feedback from customers that are using the facilities.”
