Students were treated to a taste of what university life has to offer during a Freshers’ Fair at the University of Hull Scarborough Campus.

The fair featured 90 stalls, which were visited by more than 700 students and 100 members of staff.

Stalls showcased 60 local businesses, sports teams, societies and volunteering organisations.

There was something for everyone, with free food, vouchers, from Slimming World to Domino’s pizza, Hickories to chocolates, and the Spa to Stephen Joseph Theatre.

Tom Swainson, Scarborough student union vice president, said: “I missed my freshers’ week so after become vice president in the union I really wanted to make sure every student had the chance to get involved. “The freshers’ fair was icing on the cake as so many people came together to welcome our new students and it makes my job one of the most incredible experiences of my life so far!”

Tom also thanked Kathryn Oram-Robinson, student activity co-ordinator at the Scarborough Campus, for working incredibly hard to make sure it was so successful.
