Scarborough and District Horticultural Association attracted an impressive 450 entries to its third show of the season.

The event at Crossgates Community Centre was well attended and a number of prizes were given out.

The association’s secretary. Gordon Shepherd, said: “The standard of entries was very good throughout all the classes.

“We also had some new entrants winning prizes, which was nice to see.”

He added that the November show features the usual fruit and vegetable categories plus additions such as floral art, photography and handicrafts.

Mr Shepherd said he was glad to see lots of people coming to have a look despite it being a very cold day.

The association has three shows a year, in August, September and November.
