The chief executive of Scarborough’s Cambridge Centre received a surprise visit from the High Sheriff of North Yorkshire.

Alexandra Holford arrived at the centre to present Nikki Orrell with a High Sheriff’s certificate to recognise her work helping people in the area with drug and alcohol use.

“Nikki has done outstanding work in leading the team at the Cambridge Centre and the Women’s Community Project,” said Mrs Holford.

Chairman of the Cambridge Centre Board of Trustees David Wild said: “Nikki plays a pivotal role in the running of the centre and has been crucial to its growth since the very early days. I am delighted that her hard work and determination have been recognised.”
