ROYAL wedding fever is coming to Yorkshire Coast College’s Lady Edith’s Drive campus as students work towards hosting a traditional British fete.
The free event will be held on Thursday April 28 and is open to all schools and the general public.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a range of fun activities such as croquet, cream teas and cupcake decorating.
A group of route two employment learners have made a large, wooden cake stand in preparation for the event which will be used to display specially designed cupcakes.
Tutor Paul Sharp said: “This has been a great opportunity for the students; it not only encourages them to get into the community spirit, but also helps develop their skills.
“The cake stand they have made is wonderful and I’m very proud of them. Even without the cupcakes I think it looks good enough for any Royal engagement!”
Student Alex Immerson said: “I’ve enjoyed working on this cake stand and producing something for the college’s Royal Wedding celebrations.
“I’m really looking forward to the fete - it’s going to be great fun.”
