A SCARBOROUGH charity has made it even easier to make a donation – with just a click of your thumb.

Saint Catherine’s Hospice has launched a new way to raise funds via text by signing up with JustTextGiving to offer its supporters the easiest possible way to make a donation.

Anyone wanting to make a donation just has to type in a special code and the amount they want to donate, send it to a dedicated number and their contribution will instantly wing its way to the hospice’s coffers.

Amanda Welburn, the hospice’s fund-raising administration assistant, said: “People do so many things via text message now that it seemed logical to enable everyone to donate to Saint Catherine’s using this method too.

“Text giving has proved extremely popular and successful for many national and international charities and we are very excited to add it to the many different ways that our supporters can donate to Saint Catherine’s.”

People can donate by texting STCH25 followed by the amount they wish to donate, to 70070. People can donate up to a limit of £30 per month.
