‘Jacket taxi’ turns heads in Scarborough

Passers-by at Scarborough seafront were in for a surprise when the world’s first “Jacket Taxi” pulled in to town.

The taxi, created by McCain, has a giant potato on its roof which emits the smell of hot baked potatoes.

Driven by Henry Wiltshire and Roberto Young, the taxi has been offering people a ride along the seafront and a piping hot McCain ready-baked jacket from the cab’s on-board microwave.

The taxi tour has covered cities such as London, Birmingham, Manchester, York and Leeds. It’s final stop is in Scarborough, where McCain has its headquarters.
