A NEW show celebrating the music of Glenn Miller will take place on Sunday.
The seven locally-based musicians of Jazz Legend will be giving their first performance of this latest addition to their portfolio of tribute shows.
“It will be a great way to end our season of performances at Beiderbecke’s,” said Tony Turner, trombonist and founder member.
“This is the show that our supporters have frequently asked for, and now with the aid of a wonderful set of musical transcriptions by local bandleader Dave Clegg we are ready to put this one on the road alongside our other band tribute shows.
“Whilst people wanting to see the show can purchase a combined lunch and show ticket the venue is happy for people just to come along and buy a ticket for the show only. The performance starts at 12.30pm and finishes by 2.45pm”.
Melodies to be included in the Glenn Miller show are Moonlight Serenade, The St Louis Blues March, When Johnny Comes Marching Home, The Story of a Starry Night, In the Mood, At Last, Chattanooga Choo Choo, American Patrol, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Adios, Yes My Darling Daughter, Tuxedo Junction, A String of Pearls, Little Brown Jug, Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, Pennsylvania 6-5000, Perfidia and Jeep Jockey Jump.
