X-Factor star Marcus Collins will be joined by The Risk and Loveable Rogues for A Big Night Out at the Open Air Theatre in Scarborough.
The Mend, Scarborough-born Dalek impersonator Martyn Crofts from this year’s Britain’s Got Talent Contest and Jaz Ellington and Max Milner from The Voice UK 2012 are also on the bill on Saturday August 18.
The line-up is completedby voiceover artist Peter Dickson who is the voice of The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
“We’re delighted to have secured Marcus as the headline act for ‘Big Night Out’; he’s a tremendous singer and songwriter who’s brimming with energy and talent,” said Scarborough Borough Councilstrategic director David Archer.
Twenty-four-year-old singer Marcus, who has been mentored by Gary Barlow during his rise to fame, replaces Amelia Lily.
His debut album, the self titled Marcus Collins, went straight into the top 10 of the UK album chart earlier this year and includes his singles, Mercy and Seven Nation Army, a cover of The White Stripes’ hit, which also became his first top 10 UK single.
Despite reaching the grand final of -Factor and beatingmore than 200,000 other contestants to earn his place, he came runner-up to four-piece girlband Little Mix, who became the first group ever to win the series.
Martyn Crofts, a mortgage underwriter, stormed the Britain’s Got Talent live semi-finals with a rap in the style of a Dalek - while wearing a pan on his head.
