SCARBOROUGH Sea Life Centre is appealing for volunteers to take part in the annual Beach Clean taking place at Jackson’s Bay this Sunday.

All volunteers, who will receive a free trip to the centre as a thank you, will need to gather at the centre this weekend at 1:30pm in suitable footwear and clothing. All those under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

The beach clean is supported by the Marine Conservation Society and all items found on the beach will be surveyed.

Josh Saunders, Augarist at the centre, said: “Conservation forms the heart of our Sea Life Centre, and many of our own staff will be filling bin liners at the beach this weekend. But the more pairs of hands we have the more we will achieve and the more fun it will be, so we ask all those that care for the fate of seas to please get involved.”

Survey results will be key to continuing the Marine Conservation Society’s campaign for clean seas and beaches.
