CHEERS – that was Kath Duffy’s message to party organisers who helped her celebrate 30 years at her Scarborough seafront pub in style.
Regulars, old and new, staff, former and present, joined the Newcastle Packet proprietor for the do.
“I was overwhelmed by how many people turned up,” said Kath, who received flowers and a plaque commemorating her 30th year at the pub.
“It was amazing and unbelievable. One former member of staff, Gail, came from Bolton for the event,” she said.
The party was the idea of her bar staff who said they would put up balloons and get a cake – then they invited former staff and the idea mushroomed.
“I would like to thank everybody who turned up, it was a wonderful event,” said Kath.
She said weekend trade had been amazing with sunshine and mild temperatures, for the time of year, luring people to the seafront.
