A SCARBOROUGH woman who now lives in Gloucestershire has been named the top Police Community Support Officer in her county.
Khim Mortimer covers the towns of Abbey, Hucclecote and Upton St Leonards, has been named best Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) in Gloucestershire and will now go on to compete for the national title.
She said: “I’m bowled over, very happy and very proud.
“It wouldn’t have been possible without the support, help and assistance of a cracking team around me and a great sergeant.
“I’d also like to thank all those within the community including councillors, local residents, businesses and Sergeant Trish McCavera for voting for me.”
Khim became a PCSO four years ago after getting fed up stuck behind a desk in an office job. She went through the training process and hasn’t looked back since.
She now spends time in the community, working with local youth clubs and residents groups to help them achieve policing goals.
A highlight has been helping to set up a skate ramp for youngsters in the area.
