A SUCCESSFUL St Catherine’s Hospice ladies’ lunch was held at the Crown Spa Hotel in Scarborough.

Guest speaker at the event was Andrew Boyes, of Boyes stores, who gave a well received talk on the history of the well-loved local company.

The event was a sell-out with almost 200 ladies attending the lunch.

Moments of Huntriss Row and Get Ahead Hats of Snainton provided the winter fashions and hats which were modelled during the lunch.

Fundraiser Jane Stockdale said: “Everyone had a really good day, enjoying the food, clothing, hats and especially the talk given by Andrew. He had the whole room laughing and giggling at some of his experiences as a retailer.

“The event raised over £3,000 for Saint Catherine’s, which is even more than last year. Many thanks to everyone who came along and supported the hospice and special thanks to Andrew Boyes.”
