A GROUP of famous faces enjoyed a ladies lunch in Scarborough as they took a break from performing their latest show.

The cast from Calendar Girls called in to the Copper Horse restaurant in Seamer for lunch.

The hit show, which is due to visit Scarborough in September, is currently on tour at Hull New Theatre until June 11.

Among the ladies who lunched were Qdos panto regular Kathryn Rooney, Lesley Joseph from Birds of a Feather, Sue Holderness who played Marlene Boyce in Only Fools and Horses and its spin off the Green green Grass, and Helen Fraser who is best known for playing Sylvia ‘bodybag’ Hollamby in ITV drama Bad Girls.

Kathryn Rooney said: “We have had such a lovely time in Scarborough and what an end to our day.

“The Copper Horse is so welcoming and we just love the décor.

“The food has been absolutely delicious.”

The Calendar Girls tour is coming to the Futurist Theatre, in Foreshore Road, on September 19 for six days.

With it comes a star studded cast featuring Lynda Bellingham, Debbie Chazen, Jennifer Ellison, Jan Harvey, Rula Lenska, Ruth Madoc and June Watson with Bruno Langley and Joe McGann.

The show is being officially launched in Scarborough today.
