Pupils at a Scarborough school took a trip back in time by holding a Victorian-themed day.
Youngsters at Overdale School dressed up in period costume and took part in classroom activities, such as singing the National Anthem, writing out the Lord’s Prayer and reciting their times tables.
The children, aged between five and seven, also made picture frames and took them home at the end of the day.
The school cooks also got involved and the caretaker made blackboards to cover the interactive whiteboards.
Linda Bull, acting deputy headteacher, said: “The children made an amazing effort with their outfits and it really brought the whole thing to life.
“The children had been studying Victorians as their history topic for the past term, so they had lots of knowledge on it.
“They really enjoyed it - they wanted to do it every day!”
