My family and I have had generations of business with HSBC and previously Midland Bank.
Recently, I have been trying to contact the bank to request a new cheque book and a bank statement, but as I struggle to get to my local branch on St Nicholas Street in Scarborough, I have had to ring the general number provided on letters.
I cannot get through to speak to anyone and the last time I tried to call I was kept waiting for 25 minutes. I gave up in the end and put the phone down.
There is no number for the branch at Scarborough.
I feel it is time something was done to shake up the system.
