Letter: Memorial seats occupy large areas

Walk was a bit depressing.
Walk was a bit depressing.

Taking a stroll up on South Cliff I became aware of the hundreds of commemorative seats occupying every available space alongside the footpaths.

I felt like I was walking through the memorial gardens of a cemetery or crematorium, a bit depressing really.

Are so many of these seats really necessary or could it be that they are there to provide a nice income for the council and their seat manufacturers?
