Letters: Filey is in need of some attention

Regarding the letter Apathy (Scarborough News, August 25).
We feel neglected in Filey. We feel neglected in Filey.
We feel neglected in Filey.

Not only do trees stop the beautiful views across the Filey Bay, they also overshadow our little chalets at the bottom of the slope casting huge shadows and stopping the sun coming through after about 2.30pm to 3pm.

I have personally attended the meetings earlier this year about tree trimming or pollarding. They have not been maintained for years and years and so have got completely out of control and now there is a shortage of money, the usual excuse. We would just like them trimmed back to a manageable state. I have had a chalet for 40 years.

Also regarding the parking meter fiasco. I have a friend dying from asbestosis who comes from York - about an hour’s journey and spent 40 minutes getting his car parked. Why aren’t the cash meters emptied and then they would not be broken into. Everybody does not have a card to pay with. No wonder people give up and go elsewhere.

No Evron Centre also - we have nothing in Filey, wake up!

I am getting angry about our little town.
