Lifeboat call-out to help surfer

Scarborough coastguard, lifeboat and Sea King rescue helicopter attended a call-out in South Bay on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services received reports of a surfer in difficulty at 1.38pm.

The Sea King helicopter was already out on a training exercise and went to assist.

The incident was stood down as the surfer has managed to get to shore himself and was unharmed.
