Lifeboat called out to assist fishing vessel

SCARBOROUGH’S RNLI all weather lifeboat has had its first call out for 2011.

To lifeboat was called out a 3.16am yesterday morning to assist a fishing vessel.

Humber Coastguard requested the launch of lifeboat ‘Bingo Lifeline’ to assist the 14 metre fishing vessel ‘Our Julia’ which had reported a complete engine failure in Cayton Bay.

Contact was made with the casualty vessel which had managed to re-start the engine and was proceeding back to Scarborough Harbour. The Lifeboat volunteer crew stood by at the waters edge monitoring the casualties progress. On it’s entering the harbour the Lifeboat crew stood down and returned the Lifeboat.
