FILEY’S Lifeboat Weekend made a real splash after attracting hundreds of visitors for the annual celebration.

The event, held at the town’s Lifeboat House, in Coble Landing, featured a feast of fundraising events to boost the charity’s coffers.

The weekend included a plethora of activities including a display from the Yorkshire Goldwings motorcycle club, music from Carl Sutcliffe and a show from entertainer Magic Mike.

Filey’s all-weather lifeboat, Keep Fit Association, and its inshore counterpart, Braund, were in action for a training exercise, with Filey Rotary Club’s Human Fruit Machine, Animal Sea Rescue and the Dearne Valley Big Band also performing on the day.

The weekend featured special guest Val Nixon, a retired senior lifeboat fundraiser, with Filey mayor cllr Richard Walker and mayoress Jacqui Walker and borough mayor cllr John Blackburn all on hand to mark the special occasion.
