WINDOW shoppers got a lively surprise at the Sue Ryder charity shop in Falsgrave.

Contributing to the main fundraiser of the year, sponsored living models posed in the shop window to raise £350 for care for people with conditions such as cancer, stroke, multiple sclerosis and more.

Fran Elliot, shop manager said: “15 people took part including members of staff, volunteers and friends who were sponsored to stand still. It was great fun to do, it made a lot of people smile as they passed by.

“We were in the middle of a six week sale period and this attracted a lot of extra customers to the shop.”

The shop recently represented Sue Ryder in a national competition for all charity shops and came second in the Shop of the Year category.

Mrs Elliot added: “We were awarded this huge accolade because of the fantastic work done by our dedicated team of volunteers which, combined with support of our donors and customers, is producing really excellent results for the charity.”
