Two Cadet Sergeants from Scarborough Army Cadet Force are now celebrating after comprising half of the A Company shooting team which has just won the Yorkshire (North and West) County Target Rifle Championships 2016. Jorjia Clayton-Smith and Jaimee McFarlane have been part of the shooting team for three seasons, and have shown great progression.

The competition involves shooting at 300m, 500m and 600m, and consists of both individual and team events, as well as an adult shoot. As defending champions, A Company were keen to prove a point. The skills they displayed led them to victory.

The team won 18 medals between them, and Jaimee won two individual Bronze medals, in the 300m and 500m events.

Company Shooting Officer, Staff Sergeant Instructor Kelly Claxton said: “The girls have rapidly progressed throughout their cadet career and their shooting abilities are always improving.”
