A MAN accused of causing the death of a 15-year-old schoolgirl has walked free from court.
Daniel Jeminson, 21, was this afternoon found not guilty of death by dangerous driving after Natalia Wiley was killed in a car crash on the A170 between Scarborough and Pickering in January.
A jury of nine men and three women at York Crown Court took less than two hours to reach a unanimous verdict.
Jeminson, of Kirkbymoorside, had been accused of racing Natalia’s boyfriend, Robert Turnbull, 18, near Snainton at speeds of up to 80 mph when Turnbull lost control and overturned his Vauxhall Corsa as he tried to overtake Jeminson’s white Ford Fiesta ST.
Natalia, a pupil at Lady Lumley’s School, in Pickering, died instantly of head injuries.
Turnbull, of Pickering, previously pleaded guilty to death by dangerous driving and is awaiting sentence.
