FIREFIGHTERS in Filey were called to the A165 in Lebberston after a car was reported to be on fire.

The alarm was received at 8.29am today and when they arrived at the scene they found the flames were out.

A North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said they used a hose reel to cool the engine compartment.

It is understood that the cause was believed to have been oil leaking onto the exhaust.
