After a team of McCain employees attended a RMHC charity event in Manchester last year, they met the parents of Lukas Proud, a little boy who sadly lost his battle with cancer at the age of three.

Lukas’ mum and dad had spent a lot of time at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, and the ‘home away from home’ that RMHC provided was invaluable to them and their family.

Inspired and touched by the Proud family’s strength through this difficult time, the McCain group decided to form ‘Team Lukas’ and embark on the epic bike ride.

One of the riders, corporate affairs manager Andra Stan, said: “We all feel fantastic after managing to ride 160 miles in two days.

“There are some scraped legs and achy muscles, but it was such a buzz to conquer this challenge.”
