Police search pond in murder case

POLICE are searching Scarborough as James Allen murder investigation continues.

Officers are currently scouring a pond in West Square and have also searched a property in the area for evidence.

Allen 36, stayed at Scarborough’s Allerton Croft Hotel last Wednesday, just hours after Julie Davison, 50, from Whitby, was found murdered.

Allen was charged with her murder, and that of Colin Dunford, 81, from Middlesbrough, earlier this week.

He appeared in Crown Court yesterday but did not enter pleas to the charges.

He has also been charged with rape, false imprisonment, assault and witness intimidation.
