Talking News says goodbye to stalwarts

Scarborough Talking News has said a sad goodbye to two of its most valued members, Brian and Jane Heap.

Between them, Brian, a past chairman, and Jane an editor, have 35 years’ dedicated service to the charity.

The current chairman, Malcolm Bruce Smith, presented them with certificates of appreciation in the small recording studio within The Resource Centre on Dean Road, wishing them well as they move on to enjoy other interests.

Brian was particularly active as a recorder and will be sorely missed as the number of volunteers trained to use the digital recording equipment is now very depleted.

Malcolm says if anyone with IT skills would like to join the charity with a view to undertaking the recording, they would be welcomed with open arms.
