SCARBOROUGH solicitors and representatives from St Catherine’s Hospice have teamed up for Make a Will Week.

The event runs from April 23 to 27 and is aimed at encouraging people to have a will written up in exchange for a donation.

Make a Will week has proved very successful in the past, with local solicitors giving their expertise without charge.

In the process they helped over 150 families put their affairs in order and the hospice received £14,750 in donations for patient care.

Jane Richardson, fundraiser at the hospice said: “All the services at the hospice are provided completely free of charge to patients and their families, so this amount would help to pay for over 80 day-hospice visits for our patients.

“You can help the hospice and at the same time help yourself by taking part in Make a Will Week.”

If you would like to take advantage of the scheme, go to www.stcatherineshospice-nyorks.org to see a list of participating solicitors.
