Man injured as cherry picker falls on two vehicles

A man is receiving medical treatment after his cherry picker fell on top of two vehicles in Scarborough.

Police were called to the scene at the junction of Holbeck Road and Holbeck Hill at 9.20am this morning.

The cherry picker was found to have landed on a car and a van. Paramedics are treating the injured operator.

The road is partially blocked and drivers are urged to find an alternative route.

Health and Safety Executive inspectors are attending the incident to make enquiries.

A spokesperson for Health and Safety Executive said: “HSE is aware of an incident involving a cherry picker that happened earlier this morning at Holbeck Hill, Scarborough.
