REFRESHMENTS are sorted, the T-shirts sponsored and numbers supplied – all they need now are the walkers.

Those fancing a stroll by the light of the silvery moon are being urged to sign-up for the fourth Midnight Walk in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.

The fundraiser is on Saturday September 10 and open to all ages – an 85-year-old woman has already signed up.

The Harbour Bar, the half-way point on the 6.5 mile route, will be providing ice cream, drinks and bacon butties. Sainsburys have sponsored the T-Shirts and the walkers numbers have been supplied by Galea Sunblinds.

Hospice fundriaser Penny Campbell said: “We are hugely grateful for this kindness because this allows all of the sponsorship monies raised by the walkers to go directly to the care of the patients and their families cared for by Saint Catherine’s.”

In the past three years the event has raised £165,000.

It costs £10 to register and this includes a T-shirt.

The walk starts at the hospice in Throxenby Lane, goes to the Sands, round Marine Drive, along Foreshore, Valley Road and back to the hospice.

If anyone is free that evening, Penny would be pleased to welcome more route marshals.
