Beauty salon owner Laura Stone has been crowned Miss Scarborough 2013.
The 23 year old shed tears of joy as her name was called out at last night’s ceremony, held at the Scarborough Fair Collection in Lebberston.
She said: “I couldn’t believe it! I looking forward to everything throughout the year - I can’t wait.
“It’s a real honour to be able to represent Scarborough.”
Laura, who has her own salon on Whitby, has lived in the town since she was 11.
She will now go on to represent Scarborough and District at the Miss England final in June.
Miss Scarborough organiser Diane Yalezo said: “It’s been a magical night. All the girls were fantastic and I wish they all could have won.
“But Laura was naturally bubbly, beautiful and she just shone.”
Third place went to Amy Page, 19, of York, and runner up was Jess Gale, 18, of Filey.
