A mobility scooter driver was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a collision on a Scarborough junction.

Police were called to the junction of Scalby Road and Stepney Drive yesterday at 2.10 pm, after reports of a car having collided with the mobility scooter.

A police spokesman said: "The woman riding the scooter has be taken to hospital with serious injuries."

Officers shut Woodlands Ravine, Manor Road and Scalby Road while they dealt with the incident.
