GREEN-FINGERED youngsters have been decorating plant pots and planting flowers in time for Mother’s Day on Sunday.
The children at Bairnswood Nursery in Lady Edith’s Park made the most of the milder weather by doing the activity outside.
Co-manager Viki Martin said: “As a Mother’s Day present we normally tend to make cards and for Easter we do cards and chocolate crispies.
“We also normally do boiled egg painting, so this year we thought we would try something different.”
The children sponge-painted plant pots and each planted their own flower. Altogether 31 children aged two to four years old took part.
Miss Martin said: “They all really enjoyed it. It’s the first time we’ve done this for Mother’s Day, though we do tend to do quite a lot of planting.
“It worked really well and all the children will have a really nice gift to take home.”
