A BABY Day at Scarborough Library opened up a world of information for young parents, carers and toddlers.

Organised by the venue’s community and information officers, it welcomed visitors to find out more about the library’s facilities, encourage good reading habits with youngsters and the opportunity to meet and learn about local services.

Co-organiser Heather French said: “It was very successful, we had 180 people through the door and brought together organisations from North Yorkshire County Council and external agencies. For example, North Yorkshire Credit Union, health visitors, adult learning services, healthy eating with the All Together Better project, road safety, the fire service and children’s centres.”

Music sessions were delivered by Kathy Seabrook, and an exercise with toddlers class led by Katy Rawnsley.
