The Brunswick Shopping Centre is looking for a local charity that it can help support throughout 2017.

The Brunswick Shopping Centre’s Charity of the Year was launched in 2016 and it chose the newly formed Yorkshire Coast Families (YCF) as its first partner.

Attracting over 120,000 people a week, the shopping centre is home to a mix of high street names such as Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins, Next and New Look as well as independent local retailers.

Victoria Mitchell, centre manager of the Brunswick said: “As a major part of the town centre, the Brunswick is committed to engaging with our community to help where we can.

“The Centre already works alongside a number of local, regional and national organisations such as Guide Dogs for the Blind, the Poppy Appeal and Scarborough YMCA and recently funded over 1,500 schoolchildren to take part in this year’s Crucial Crew workshops.

“This work won’t stop but by working closely with one local charity we hope to be able to help them develop but also see how they can add to the shopping experience.”
