A new manager has been appointed at Scarborough’s Brunswick Shopping Centre.

Victoria Mitchell brings 20 years of retail experience, having held the position of centre manager at Junction 32 Outlet Shopping Village in Castleford for the last six years.

Victoria was also centre manager at St Johns Centre in Leeds as well as being the town centre manager in Barnsley and has won the Sceptre Award for Town Centre Shopping Centre Manager of the Year.

She will be responsible for working with the tenants to deliver a high quality retail experience to Brunswick’s 6.5 million visitors every year.

Commenting on the appointment, Sarah Lulham, of M&G Real Estate, said: “We are delighted to have recruited someone of Victoria’s calibre to the position of centre manager at Brunswick.

“The shopping centre is a key retail asset for the town and we look forward to working with Victoria to help us improve Brunswick’s offer for residents and visitors to the town alike.”

Victoria added: “I am extremely excited to be taking up this position and developing relationships with the impressive list of retailers that the Brunswick Shopping Centre has to offer.

“Scarborough is a fantastic seaside town and I have always wanted to live and work by the coast.

“To realise this dream, I bought a shed on the cliff tops at Flamborough and had it demolished to make way for a new home and have been actively looking for a challenging centre management position on the East Coast since.

“I’m looking forward to working with the team to develop the Centre to ensure all of our visitors enjoy a first-class shopping experience.”

The Brunswick Centre has more than 135,000 sq ft over two floors, featuring 31 retail units and with 350 car parking spaces on site.

The shopping centre occupies a prime position in Scarborough town centre and is home to 31 top high street names including Debenhams, New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Next and Top Shop.
