Opera, cocktails – and a family sleepover in one of the world’s oldest museums – it must be what has become annual Museums at Night.
As part of the weekend – Thursday May 15 to Saturday May 17, both the Rotunda Museum and Scarborough Art Gallery are holding special events on Friday May 16.
At the Rotunda, there’s a free family event – Sleepover at The Rotunda. Families are asked to bring their own sleeping bags and snacks and join in the fun from 7pm. Breakfast will be provided the following morning. Places on the sleepover are suitable for seven-to-11-year-olds (who must be accompanied by an adult), are limited, and must be pre-booked on 01723 353665.
At Scarborough Art Gallery, culture vultures can enjoy opera an cocktails. The opera is free – sadly, the cocktails are not! The opera comes courtesy of singer Nathan Jenkins, with accompaniment from pianist Susan Hartley.
Cocktails and soft drinks will be served from 7pm, with opera from 7.45pm – places are limited and bookable from the art gallery.
