A generous Scarborough pensioner celebrated his 90th birthday by raising money for disabled children.
Instead of receiving birthday presents, kind Dennis Stubbs, asked friends and family to make a donation to May Lodge, which offers short breaks for children with disabilities.
He managed to raise £1,145 for Action for Children, which runs the lodge in Cherry Tree Avenue.
Mr Stubbs said: “I am 90 years old, and I thought, what do I need at my age? I wanted to do some good for the children.”
To celebrate, grateful staff held a tea party for Mr Stubbs, where he was presented with a birthday cake and a thank you card made by the children. More staff are needed at May Lodge, to find out more call 01723 343751.
