A SCARBOROUGH nurse is bidding farewell to colleagues and patients after four decades in the profession.
June Josey is retiring after working as a nurse for 40 years.
For the past 25 years of her career Mrs Josey has been working as a Community Macmillan Nurse, caring for people suffering from cancer in the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale area.
Mrs Josey spent most of her time working in the Whitby area and is a member of the Whitby community.
To celebrate her retirement Mrs Josey was joined by her husband Barry and friends and colleagues for a special presentation at Saint Catherine’s Hospice.
Mrs Josey was presented with a specially made cake, flowers, cards and retirement gifts.
A spokesman for Macmillan nurses bid farewell to Mrs Josey and said: “June will be missed by all her colleagues.”
Mrs Josey says she is going to spend her retirement sharing her time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
