YOUNGSTERS have been creating their own works of art at a “messy play” session in East Ayton.
The sessions at Derwent Valley Children’s Centre have just started up again following the Christmas break and families are being encouraged to come along and join in the fun.
Simone Wilkinson, children’s centre service manager, said: “Often families do not know about the wonderful things that we do at the centre and how these activities link to child development and social interaction.
“For example, Messy Play sessions promote the development of cognitive and language skills in a fun environment. If families have not been to the centre before I hope they will drop in to find out what other things are on offer.”
These include Fun Music, Baby Massage, Mini Movers and a new session entitled Let’s Get Moving, designed to enhance children’s physical development.
To book onto a session or to find out how the activities can support your child learning and development contact Derwent Valley Children’s Centre on (01609) 797500.
The Messy Play sessions are every Tuesday at 1.30pm to 3pm, booking is essential.
