More than 1,000 people are expected to take part in Sunday’s 10K road race along Scarborough seafront.
The event will be started officially by Olympic 400m hurdler Perri Shakes-Drayton, who is an ambassador for sponsor McCain.
The 10K road race starts at 10am at Scarborough Spa, followed by a 2.5K family fun run at 11.30am.
The event has proved popular in previous years, with family groups, workmates and friends taking part together - some in fancy dress.
Chris Clayton, chairman of Scarborough Athletic Club said: “The event continues to grow year on year, its main aim being to raise funds to build a much needed athletic facility in the area to support the regions young athletes.”
Perri Shakes-Drayton said: “I really enjoyed being part of last year’s event and am thrilled to be back. The McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k run is a brilliant opportunity for people of all ages to get involved in athletics, and it’s great that there is a fun run so that children can join in as well.”
