Peat Rigg is an outdoor learning centre near Pickering. A group of boys were selected for the trip to help with things such as confidence-building and team work. The trip also had a focus on English as we used our experiences to write a story for our coursework.

Our first task was to climb the mighty Jacob’s Ladder. But when it came to climbing it, I could hardly get up without Dan and Rob’s help. The activity was challenging but amazing. Next, we did orienteering where we ventured out into the wilds and looked for hidden letters. We also made a fire and roasted marshmallows.

On our final day, we had to abseil off a bridge! Mrs Stockill was absolutely petrified of heights, but she accepted the challenge. I was nervous but I did it. I felt like an absolute legend. I am grateful to my fantastic teachers for the experience; I also enjoyed doing the adventure with my friends.

Congratulations to Dan, Rob, Billy, Lewis, Tyler, Josh and Ricky. I had a wonderful time.
