CAYTON Art Club has benefited from a £250 cash boost and the money will be used to buy desperately needed exhibition stands.
The grant is the final handout for the financial year given to local groups by Cayton Parish Council.
Roberta Swiers, the parish council chairman, made the presentation and the 11 stands were made by local carpenter Martin Bentley.
A council spokeswoman said: “The new stands will be on display to help show off member’s work on June 5 when the club is having an open evening at Cayton Village Hall as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
“The donation brings the total of grant monies handed out by Cayton Parish Council for the year 2011/12 to £1,000.”
Other recipients have included: Barn Bowling Club, Cayton Cricket Club and Cayton Corinthians Junior Football Club.
The spokeswoman added: “The grant scheme is to be continued in 2012/2013. To be considered for a grant of up to £250, local clubs and organisations have to complete an application form, which can be obtained from the Parish Council Office.”
