THE recipes inspired by James Martin’s programme Operation Hospital Food are featured in a new book.

The celebrity chef from Ryedale transformed Scarborough Hospital’s menu.

Pat’s Place Recipe Book features the most popular dishes from the new menu, including sticky toffee pudding and butternut squash and lime soup.

The booklet is available from Pat’s Place priced at £2. All money made from the book will go towards purchasing catering equipment.

James Martin, who trained at Yorkshire Coast College, has igned 50 copies of the booklet which are available on a first come first serve basis from hospital catering manager Pat Bell, priced at £3.

Pat Bell said: “People kept ringing us and asking for recipes. Things like the fishcakes, slow-roasted pork and cauliflower and apple soup have been very popular.

“We’ve had lots of people writing to us and emailing to say they watched the programme on TV.”
