A MAN who did a fundraising bike ride to Paris has completed a 12-hour static cycle challenge in Scarborough town centre.

It was one of a number of challenges that personal trainer Jon Burch will be tackling in aid of the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Trust which funds research into the condition.

He said that the weekend event went “brilliantly” and his next planned challenge will be the Great North Run in September.

He added: “The whole day went really well and we got loads of support and hopefully raised a bit of awareness for MS Trust.

“There is also an MS Balloon release on Monday August 27, which will be between 500 and 999 MS branded balloons released near the lifeboat station on Scarborough seafront.

“We’re currently selling balloons for the release for a minimum donation of £2 – you get a card and a number and once the balloons are released the one that’s found to have travelled the furthest will win a hamper.”

The total raised on Saturday was £411.12 and his total for the year so far is £2,100.

All proceeds will be donated to the MS Trust, and donations can be made by contacting Jon on 07710 472383.
