A man in his 70s has sustained injuries after coming into collision with a car in Scarborough town centre.

Police were called at 1.19pm today following reports of a minor collision on Westborough, outside Scarborough Railway Station, involving a Volvo V50 Drive and a pedestrian.

The pensioner was checked over at the scene by paramedics and is not believed to be seriously injured.

The road was temporarily closed to allow emergency services to the scene with traffic delays in the area.

The road was reopened at around 1.50pm.
