A SECOND 60s reunion party is being held in a bid to raise money for cancer charities.
The Spa Ocean Room will host the evening on Friday June 3 and will hope to repeat the huge success of last year’s event at Scarborough Rugby Club which saw more than £2,000 raised for the Macmillan and Marie Curie charities.
Organisers Kay Haw and Jacqueline Hick are now searching for more 50s and 60s pictures from private collections to be displayed on the night.
Kay said, “One of the main features of the evening last year were the displays of old photographs of the 60s borrowed from personal collections. We scanned, enlarged and displayed them on the night and they caused much interest and nostalgia.”
She added: “Any photos of the 50s and 60s of groups of friends possibly at venues such as the PV, Scenes 1 and 2, Candlelight, Olympia, Wimpy Bar etc, would be most welcome. We only need to borrow them for a short time to scan then they will be returned to the owners. We would be most grateful if readers could help us make this year’s party another success and look forward to seeing many of them there.”
If you have pictures which you would like to lend to the event you can email them to firstname.lastname@example.org or place them in envelopes clearly marked with the name, address and telephone number of the owner, then left at The Watermark Café in North Bay. Tickets will be available soon.
