CUSTOMERS at a Scarborough store were greeted by an army of pirates during a special fundraising event.
Staff at Sally Hair and Beauty in Castle Road dressed to impress as part of their efforts to raise money for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
During the event staff offered mini manicures to customers and also manned a cake stall and raffle, with prizes kindly donated by local businesses.
There was also a hook a duck stall for the children.
The fun day raised £220 and in total, including the run-up to the day, the store raised an impressive £650.
A spokeswoman from Sally’s said: “We were really pleased with the amount raised. We didn’t anticipate how much we would make, so this is brilliant.
“It’s the first time we’ve dressed up in the store and all the costumes were brilliant.
“The customers really enjoyed it and people were bringing their kids in to have their faces painted.” She added that they hoped to hold another fundraiser in the future.
