THE popular vintage working day and ploughing match returns to Mill Lane in Cayton Bay this weekend.

Organisers Terry Oakley and Eddie Brown have arranged Saturday’s event to raise funds for patient care in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.

Fundraiser Jane Richardson said: “Last year the event raised the wonderful sum of £5,296.42 and was incredibly well supported by people from far and wide.”

This year will see lots of vintage machinery working the field as well as Shire horses and a pony and cart for children’s rides.

There will also be steam engines, threshing display, tractors, motorbikes, a saw bench, various stalls, refreshments, and some commercial vehicles on display.

During the morning vintage tractor owners will take part in a tractor drive out around the area.

Later in the day there will be a grand auction, raffle and entertainment as well as a Beer tent. Admission is free and the event starts from 9am.

Organisers are also wanting to attract car boot sellers so if you would like to book a pitch call (01723) 582596.
